A lot of travel in India feels like stepping back in time, which is one of the main reasons I travel. This Kubera Temple, clinging to the side of the hill in Jaageshwar, Uttarakhand was no exception.

This temple is on the route to the mystical Mount Kailash, home to Shiva, the god of destruction. For hundreds if not thousands of years pilgrims walked these paths and visited these temples. There is a sense of calm and controlled power that suffuses the area.

Times have changed and connectivity produced its own challenges. However these trees, valleys and temples radiate that timeless feeling.

Drumming at the Lil Flea

At The Lil Flea market earlier this year, I was working with the organizers to photograph the three days event.

On the center quadrant stage, some of Mumbai's best bands performed. This image is of Anand Bhagat, the leader of the energetic group of drummers, Boombay Djemba Folas. They are known for their traditional West African rhythms and soulful beats.

Listening to good music and photographing the musicians is a beautiful way to delve into their music.
